This article explains how and when the step tracker built into the Walkadoo iPhone and Android apps syncs steps to your Walkadoo account. For the purposes of this article, we want to first outline three different app 'states.'
- Closed - In this state the app is installed on your phone but not open at all.
- Running in the background - In this state the app is installed, and you have opened it but it is not presently your foreground app that you're looking at.
- Open - In this state, you are looking at the app on your phone.
When will the Walkadoo iPhone app sync my steps?
While the Walkadoo iPhone app will continuously sync your steps as long as the app is installed on your phone, we recommend opening the app at least once per day to check in on your progress.
When will the Walkadoo Android app sync my steps?
The step tracker built into the Walkadoo Android app syncs steps each time the app is open. The app will also sync your steps once per hour while it is running in the background. We always recommend opening the Walkadoo app at least once every day to check your progress.
What should I do if steps are not appearing in my Walkadoo account?
If your steps are not syncing to your Walkadoo account, please try closing the Walkadoo app and reopening it. You'll see updated steps in Walkadoo within 30 minutes of reopening the Walkadoo app. The Walkadoo app cannot sync any steps if it is closed.
If you go more than 7 days without opening the Walkadoo app, it will not be possible to retrieve step data prior to the past 7 days.
